Julie D. McElroy

PARTNER

Julie McElroy started Jacobsen & McElroy in 1998 after working with Karen Jacobsen at another local litigation firm.  Julie is an “AV” rated attorney and at Jacobsen & McElroy, she continues to specialize in complex general liability matters including construction defect, environmental, mold, general negligence and other complex matters.

Julie graduated from Chico State University with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Political Science.  Julie is a 1992 graduate of McGeorge School of Law at the University of Pacific.  She was in the top one percent of her graduating class and graduated with Great Distinction, was Order of the Coif, and is a lifetime member of the Traynor Honor Society.

Since her admission to the bar, Ms. McElroy has practiced in the areas of civil litigation defense, primarily handling litigation matters for self-insured clients and insurers.  She is licensed to practice in both state and federal courts.   Julie is a member of the Sacramento County Bar Association, the Association of Defense Counsel, a member of the Construction Defect Committee for the ADC and a member of the Construction Lawyers Society of America.  Julie was also a speaker at the ADC’s Mold Seminar given her expertise in this area.  Julie has previously been a member of the Anthony Kennedy Inn of Court and served as Vice-Chair of the Development Committee of the Women Lawyers of Sacramento. 

Julie enjoys spending time with her husband and sons.  The family is active in supporting Sacramento State athletics as her husband is a sports announcer for the college and many weekends and evenings are spent watching basketball and football games. Julie also enjoys yoga and hiking.
