Lisa M. Estabrook
SENIOR COUNSEL
Lisa Estabrook is senior counsel at Jacobsen & McElroy with 26 years of litigation experience. She has trial and appellate experience in state and federal courts and has tried cases before administrative tribunals. She has served as a partner at two AV rated civil litigation defense firms, as well as Staff Counsel at Zurich North America.
Lisa attended the University of California at Santa Barbara, where she earned her B.A. in Political Science with an emphasis in International Relations and German as her selected language. She was elected as a member of the Associated Student Council and completed her studies within three years while graduating in 1989 with honors. After graduation, she took the next year to work as an assistant to the Dean of the College of Engineering and travel abroad. She attended Boston University School of Law where she earned her Juris Doctorate in 1993. She was awarded First Place Team and Brief in the Albers Honors Moot Court Competition, won Moot Court Competition awards at the National level and was a member of the National Trial team.
Since her admission to the California State Bar in 1993, Lisa primarily has practiced in the area of civil litigation defense, handling litigation matters for self-insured clients and insurers. She has experience in a wide variety of legal areas including securities, antitrust, personal injury, premises liability, labor and employment, habitability, products liability and construction defect. She is licensed to practice in both state and federal courts, including the U.S. Supreme Court, and is a member of the Association of Defense Counsel and the Sacramento County Bar Association. She has served for many years as a mediator as well as Settlement Conference Judge for the Sacramento Superior Court.
Lisa enjoys spending time with her husband and children and their schnoodle Jake. She also likes to exercise, read, spend time with friends, and travel.
