Nancy M. Norris
SENIOR COUNSEL
Nancy M. Norris is Senior Counsel on the Jacobsen McElroy Booth & Dolin Personal Injury and Premises Liability team. She graduated from Southwestern School of Law in Los Angeles in 1992 and has been licensed to practice law in California since 1992 and in Texas since 2011. Her career started at a large civil litigation defense firm in Los Angeles where she was a trial attorney with a focus on premise liability defense for her large retailer clients. Nancy was also an attorney for a major insurance company in Southern California handling a variety of complex civil litigation matters including premises liability, motor vehicle defense cases, and false imprisonment cases. She also has worked in private practice and represented clients in real estate transactions, business, and creditors rights litigation. Most recently Nancy had a lengthy career with Fannie Mae where she was Associate General Counsel providing legal support to various business teams including REO, Sales, Closing & Title, and Hazard Claims. Nancy managed outside counsel in matters involving breach of sales contracts, code violations, receiverships, condemnations, and insurance matters involving personal injury, premises liability and property damage that arose at REO properties. Nancy has been first chair on eight cases that went to verdict.
Nancy’s volunteer activities include mentoring 1L law students through Leadership Counsel on Legal Diversity (LCLD); participating in the Diversity Lab’s (Mansfield Rule Certifier) new partner pitches; and volunteering with the Dallas Volunteer Attorney Program (DVAP) to draft wills and healthcare POAs for clients, and to clear driver license records that interfere with the client obtaining benefits, housing and employment. Nancy recently relocated to Sacramento from Texas to live closer to her adult children who both live on the West Coast.
